The Second Episcopal District African Methodist Episcopal comprises 360 rural, suburban, and urban churches located in Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, and North Carolina.  There are five conferences, Baltimore, Washington, Virginia, North Carolina, and Western North Carolina.

North Carolina Conference

Eastern boundary line of the counties of Vance, Franklin and Wake and the southeastern line of Chatham, Moore, and Scotland Counties. Founded in 1869

Western North Carolina Conference

Part of the state not included in the North Carolina Conference. Founded in 1892
